CORSCOMBE STREET FAIR – SATURDAY 9 JUNE

The street fair is a new venture this year – and is the major fundraising event for village organisations.  And its shaping up nicely!

It is happening on Saturday 9 June from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What you can do to help!

      1)      Book a stall – do you make crafts to sell, have you never quite got to that car boot

sale, would you like to sell products for your favourite charity? – stalls cost £5 per 6 foot

of space – for more information contact David Taylor on 891055.

       2)      Help out on the day – we need people on village stalls (like teas, tombola, plants)

helping with car parking, general organisation – if you are available even for a couple

of hours please contact Jenny Thorne on 891847 or Heather Starkings on 891538.

They will also be able to tell you who’s running the village stalls.

       3)      Contribute to village stalls - the stall holders will be pleased to receive goods to

sell in fact they rely on them.    You can just bring things along on the day, but it would

help if you could let them know in advance.

       4)      Sell raffle tickets for the village raffle: available from Jane Allen on 891684.

       5)      Just come along, buy things and enjoy the entertainment.

Car parking is being provided in the east in the field between Down Cottage and Lilac

Cottage (weather permitting), and in the west at Lower Farm.

The entertainment, including dancing and a display by First Responders will be outside

the play area.  Four dance teams have been booked so there’ll be something on

   almost hourly.

There will be teas at Chilterns,

 Duck racing at Milton

 Barbecue at Yew Tree House

 Bar in Comforts Orchard

Ice creams available from Winton Cottage

And stalls along the main street.

Put the date in your diary now – and tell your friends!

FIRST RESPONDERS

We still seem to have at least one 'shout' a month , some months more than others.

It has now been established, without a doubt, that there is a need for the Responders

in and around Corscombe.

There is an urgent need for more recruits . This requires 2 to 3 days training and

scenarios and more training every few weeks.

If you are interested in helping your community when there is an emergency please

ring Stuart on 891765 or Jeff on 891085 or Paula on 891494

We have literature and information supplied by the South Western Ambulance Service.

Our aims are to provide - -

The right person with the right equipment and training

to the right person at the right time.

LADYBIRD'S PLAYGROUP

We seemed to have skipped Spring, and Summer weather came instead. All the

mini-beasts are busy collecting their food for the hot Summer that lays ahead. As you

may guess we are looking at mini-beasts. We will take a welly walk (or sandles if this

weather carries on!) to see if we can catch some of these little critters to examine and

study. We will also be having our annual outing. Watch this space for news of where

we have been.

Don't forget to come and visit us at the new Corscombe Village Street Fair. (We will be

 at the BBQ)

Ladybirds AGM Monday 18th June 7.30.at the village hall.  Please join us for this

short meeting and food after.
