Luncheon at Popes Cottage, Corscombe. 9th July 2006. About 70 people shared an alfresco lunch in the gardens of Popes Cottage. The lunch and wine were courtesy of Rosie Taylor and was offered as a prize at the Corscombe Auction of Promises back in November 2005. Originally it was for four guests but Rosie decided that she would throw it open to everyone!! With rain during the previous night and in the early hours of the morning, it looked as though the weather was going to be unkind. But the sun broke through the clouds and the event was blessed with sunshine with odd cloudy patches. The lovely meal was prepared by Rosie and served by Tiggy Jones, Christine Garrett and Davina Skelton-Stroud. The bar was ably manned and womanned by Valentine Villiers, John Perris and Sarah Mitchell. Music was provided by the Tone Valley Jazz Band. The raffle for 'Dinner for 2 at the Fox Inn' was organised by Paul Rendell and won by Jeff Male. As can be seen in the following pictures everyone had a wonderful time meeting old friends and hopefully making new ones at the lunch.
